This year the German Department performed a wide variety of musicals.

1. December 2005: It organised a Christmas concert with German High School at the German Consulate.
2. March 23rd 2006: Our school band Phoenix performed at the opening concert of the activity called ‘The teenagers are making music’.
3. May 4th 2006: Spring Concert: İstanbul High School Chorus,Guitar band,The band Phoenix
4. May 29th 2006: İstanbul High School welcomed ‘The Stadthagen Municipality Music Band’ and they performed at the opening ceremony of the Culture week.( They also gave concerts at İstanbul University, Austrian High School and Tünel.)
5. May 30th 2006: The musical ‘Mozart’ was performed.(Also on 31st May,5th June and 6th June 2006.
6. May 31st 2006: Our school band Phoenix performed at ‘the 3rd Short Film Contest Reward Ceremony’ which was held by Istanbul High School.
7. June 13th 2006: Our school band Phoenix performed at the farewell ceremony which was organized for The German Consulate General Mr. Möckelmann.
8. June 20th 2006: Our school band Phoenix performed at the Abitur Diplom Ceremony which was held at the German Consulate General Garden.

At Istanbul High School,there are three bands which rehearsed during the extra-curricular activity hours and performed at several occasions.

1. The Guitar Band has been trained by Dr Klaus Langrock and has had rehearsals once a week at lunch breaks.Since last year Ezgi Şahin has been accompanying the guitar band,too.At the Spring Concert the band performed and accompanied some Turkish songs.
2. The German Department Chorus which is also conducted by Dr Klaus Langrock consists of Istanbul High School students, teachers and parents. The Chorus prepared the Christmas Concert (by cooperating with German High School) and sang some modern songs and also performed at the musical called ‘Mozart’.
3. ‘Phoenix’ student band which was founded by Reinhold Stubbe,performed successfully at both school activities and and other shows.Although the members of the band( vocalist and drummer) were replaced with new students their repertory improved, in addition to that they performed a very successful show at the musical ‘Mozart’.
